Rapunzel 2026: Relaxed Performance

Our relaxed performances are designed to welcome audiences who may otherwise feel excluded from live theatre.We aim to create a less formal, more supportive environment, with audiences free to talk or move around as they need to and a ‘chill out’ space available for anyone who needs a break.Lighting, sound and special effects are slightly altered in order to reduce anxiety levels, but the production will remain the same.Our staff are trained to create a friendly setting and assist with any additional needs our audiences may have.For any enquiries about our relaxed performances, please contact us.In the dark, tangled forest of Hamsterley stands a mysterious tower, locals swear they can hear beautiful singing drifting through the trees, a voice so pure it stops even the bravest woodcutter in their tracks.What the villagers don’t know is that the tower hides a single, sorrowful resident: the kind-hearted Rapunzel, whose only regular company is a plucky little red squirrel.But the good folk of Hamsterley whisper of other things too.

They dare not speak the name of Mistress Gothel, the enchantress who haunts the forest paths.With the help of her new friends, can Rapunzel travel to the distant city of Durham and discover her true identity and solve the mystery of the floating lanterns?Book before 11.59pm on Wednesday 31 January 2026 to get your tickets for Rapunzel for the same price as our 2025 production Jack and the Beanstalk.Following feedback received from our audiences, families can enjoy 15% off when booking four tickets (min. one under 16 excluding Band C) for our relaxed performance of Rapunzel on Tuesday 15 December 2026 at 6.30pm.For a limited time, schools and groups (10+) can save £1 per pupil (usual price £11 for off-peak, £12 for peak) when reserving tickets for their school booking before Wednesday 31 January 2026.
