Underground West Newcastle, talk by Newcastle Photo Archive

West Newcastle contains as much history underground as it does above ground – almost! Newcastle Photo Archive will talk about coal mining and clay mining, the two activities nearly always went together.

NPA will also talk about water resources and how they influenced the development of west Newcastle as well as the location and function `of stone quarries.They will also talk about one really surprising underground activity!
