Evidence shows that for many people there are clear links between writing/sharing poetry, and an improved sense of wellbeing.

The Hope Collective is a ground-breaking project by the NHS and the National Poetry Centre in which hundreds of ordinary people have submitted poems - bravely putting their personal experiences into words and sharing them with others.
In this session chaired by poet Paul Farley, Hope Collective organiser Luise Marino discusses the project alongside two people who submitted poems - Gracie Marsh and Katherine Hunt.
Joining them on stage is celebrated poet Karen McCarthy Woolf who burst onto the poetry scene in 2014 with her debut An Aviary of Small Birds, a collection whose emotional core was the tragic stillbirth of her son.
Note: this is a discussion in which traumatic experiences of grief, loss and bereavement are likely to be shared.Presented by the BBC and the National Poetry CentreStart time: 5pmRun time: 1 hourIf you wish to book a wheelchair space, or have any access-related requests, please contact our box office team on 0161 876 2015 to discuss your requirements and make your booking. Please note, a ticket booking confirmation does not guarantee your entry to this event.
