InfoMerton Pride, scheduled for Saturday 5th September 2026It will be the 2nd edition of our borough’s LGBTQ+ Pride event. It will build on the success of the inaugural 2025 celebration and embed it more firmly within Merton’s community calendar. Delivered by Merton Plus, a volunteer-led community organisation, the project aims to create a safe, welcoming and joyful civic and cultural event where LGBTQ+ residents and allies can come together, feel visible in their own borough, and strengthen the sense of community that underpins local wellbeing.Theme

Participants will then take part in a community march from Morden Hall Park to Merton Abbey Mills, following the River Wandle. The route highlights an important part of Merton’s social and environmental history and reflects our ambition to deliver one of London’s greenest Pride events. The march will be open, accessible, and celebratory, with music and performances reflecting the borough’s cultural diversity.Festival
The day will begin with a community fair at Morden Hall Park, delivered in partnership with the National Trust. The fair will include stalls from local charities, community groups, small businesses, and health and wellbeing services, alongside participatory activities such as movement workshops, choir sessions, and dance. These activities encourage interaction across ages and backgrounds and support positive mental health.After party
The day will conclude with an evening programme at Merton Abbey Mills, showcasing local LGBTQ+ and ally performers, including musicians, dancers, drag artists, spoken-word performers, and community choirs. The show provides vital opportunities for local artists to perform in a supportive public setting.
