Our Favourite Places - Ken Shippen & Dorothy Emery

Artisan GalleryKen and Dorothy are brother and sister and share a passion for landscape painting.

They use a variety of mediums but mainly acrylic and oils.

As native North Easterners, they are both drawn towards the rugged and spectacular coastline of Northumberland but are also inspired by the splendour of the coast and countryside around Britain.This is a celebration of the splendour and beauty of our countryside, coast and heritage.

The joint exhibition is a selection of landscape oil and acrylic paintings, from dramatic seascapes, hills and valleys, waterfalls and lakes, to cities and historical sites.

Their paintings are both realistic and abstract interpretations of the landscape and aim to capture and reflect the mood of the scene.
