Oberon and Titania are at war. The subject of their battle? An orphan, left behind by his mother, a handmaiden of Titania. As a supernatural boy, his rightful place is in the service of Oberon. But Titania cannot so easily give away the only remaining memory of her close friend. As a result, they argue and their conflict resonates across Nature - storms, tempests, blighted harvests, perpetual winter. How can this be resolved? Oberon is determined to end the war strictly on his own terms and a chance encounter with a band of human actors, together with inside knowledge of the real power of the pansy flower, gives him an idea.
