St Albans Choral Society: Summer Concert -'Two by Two'

Join St Albans Choral Society and special guestsThe Harry Baker Trio for a summer concert,'Two by Two!': an upbeat evening of choral music in the stunning acoustic of St Peters Church, St Albans.Featuring as its centrepiece, Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo: a joyful and silly re-telling of the story of Noahs Ark. With animals in mind, the programme also includes Eric Whitacres Animal Crackers - playful arrangements of the delightful comic poems of Ogden Nash; and Benjamin Brittens timelessRejoice in the Lamb.The concert also features the second-ever performance of Harry Bakers Three Teasdale Songs (a setting of poems by American poet Sara Teasdale) which infuse the programme with jazzy poignancy, accompanied by the composer himself along with his jazz trio.The choir will be joined by two versatile soloists, soprano Emily Varney and baritoneHugh Beckwith,who will be singing various standards and songs throughout the programme.
