La Déferlance

Québec traditional music quartet La Déferlance bring vibrant arrangements, rich vocal harmonies and infectious energy to Kings Place.

Drawing on both traditional repertoire and original compositions, the group present music from their latest album, Âmes des bois.Formed in 2018, La Déferlance have become known for their refreshing approach to Québec traditional music, blending lively tunes, traditional songs, and original compositions, drawing on influences from jazz and classical music.

Their polished performances and colourful arrangements have earned them nominations at both the Canadian Folk Music Awards and the GAMIQ.In Âmes des bois, based on their second album released in 2025, the quartet weave together stories from the past and present of Québec society.
