Art Deco and BeyondJoin us for a tour that will highlight the diverse collection of textiles produced by Warner & Sons in the 1920s and 1930s and bring patterns that have not been seen since their original creation into the spotlight to spark inspiration. Discover the depth of imagination of designers and weavers of the era through seeing patterns up close. Learn more about the process of production of these incredible designs. Immerse yourself in the opulent world of Art Deco, and some of the surprising textiles of the era.Industrial design in the 1920s and 1930s was an era of contrast and experimentation. Energetic and exuberant patterns prevailed in a period where vivid colour and texture created international excitement for new developments in interior decoration. While Warner & Sons are often remembered as experts in traditional handwoven silk furnishing textiles, the firm also traded in printed textiles and were not afraid to adapt their handwoven range to suit modern trends.[pictured design Tehran, also called Knaresborough, handwoven silk, 1926, designed by Bertrand Whittaker]Tour Information:
