Phytoplankton, zooplankton, microalgae, and larvae are just some of the crazy mini life forms which fill our seas. They all have one thing in common; they all have fantastical shapes and are great inspiration for making masks and headdresses inspired by life in the sea.Join Georgia Crook as she introduces you to these creatures, exploring their shapes and forms, which you will then use to create your own marine-inspired mask/headdress. She will bring along plenty of materials to create your own unique-shaped masks using sticks, wire, coloured paper, and bits and pieces gathered from the beaches around Oban. If you can, feel free to bring your own supplies!Georgia Crook is a mixed media visual artist who uses her arts practice to expand her understanding of both inward and outward natural environments. She has a strong background in heritage craft,combining techniques to create mainly sculptural works. She also has a Masters in Art and Science. She works from bases in Highland Perthshire and in Argyll.
