Part of St Marys Events Musical May-hem month!Celtic traditional and contemporary songs and tunes with music from the UK & Ireland.Were delighted to welcome to St Marys Oxford's much-toured 4-piece band, Moonrakers (celtic harp, cello, stringed instruments, whistles, female/male vocals). Moonrakers are on a mission to bring traditional and contemporary folk music to new audiences in village halls, churches, arts centres and festivals across the UK.With songs and tunes from the English, Irish and Scottish tradition as well as their own compositions, theyve been described as startlingly talented (Oxford Times), with five albums of "exquisite music "(BBC) and "truly wonderful" performances (Wycombe Festival).
2023 saw the launch of their album Green to Gold which received glowing reviews in the music press). Their music also featured in the new BBC television drama Beyond Paradise.
