Local Halifax Historian, David Glover, returns to The Workshop for an evening of Spooky local tales.David tells the story of how a curse on a Halifax pedlar helped convict a "Pendle Witch" in 1612; the 18th Century tale of Mrs Haigh of Shaw Hill, almost buried alive in Halifax Parish Church around 1770; and the apparent contemporary cases of human combustion involving sisters less than a mile apart, near Sowerby Bridge in 1899.

David will also describe two non-local ancestral curses - The Headless Horseman of Chavenage, and the Monk's Curse of Cowdray.
