About
A best of Samuel Beckett brought to life. Absurd. Poetic. Funny. Quietly devastating. Two astonishing performers. Sixteen works.
A best of Samuel Beckett brought to life. Absurd. Poetic. Funny. Quietly devastating. Two astonishing performers. Sixteen works. One unforgettable journey.
The End is in the Beginning is a compilation of sixteen of Samuel Becketts plays, prose works and poems, performed by Philip Robinson and Sarah White, and directed by Nikki Sved (Theatre Alibi).
The show offers a new way to experience Becketts language and meet his characters as they struggle to tell their stories. A kind of best of Beckett and a celebration of the act of trying again, failing again, failing better.
Expect a mystery phone call, impossible-to-remove boots, surreal radio broadcasts, a glass of Jameson, classic clowning, beguiling stillness and Godots arrival (maybe).
Tickets to this performance also give you access to a free talk from writer, actor and Beckett obsessive Philip Robinson, who will give a short introduction to the work of one of Irelands most influential thinkers and writers, and to the making of the show.
Grateful thanks to Edward Beckett and the Beckett Estate for giving their support to this project.
