The UK premiere of a unique musical endeavour, Chopin Residue – a multidisciplinary project that explores the physical and conceptual boundaries of sound through a carefully controlled process of mechanical deconstruction. The project begins with the reinterpretation of selected compositions by Fryderyk Chopin, which are transformed into experimental audio pieces emphasising texture, fragmentation, and abstraction.Sonically, Chopin Residue navigates a landscape between experimental electronic music, ambient guitar work, free improvisation, and post-jazz sensibilities.Masterminded by writer/producer Mariusz Szypura, the project brings together more than 25 international artists across its album and live incarnations.
For the UK premiere at Cadogan Hall, Szypura is joined on stage by Adrian Utley (Portishead), John Stanier (Battles, Tomahawk), Sean O’Hagan (The High Llamas), Charlie Draper and Miłosz Pękała.
