Tidelines Book Festival Presents Irvine Literary Tour With Poetic Justice

From the Glasgow Vennel, we begin an introduction to Irvine's literary history, from Robert Burns and John Galt to Edgar Allan Poe and modern writers.

We then visit key sites including the Allan family home, Irvine Grammar School and Old Parish Kirkyard, exploring Poe's early life and connections to the town.

The tour concludes with discussion of Poe's later years, literary legacy, and mysterious death, with optional readings from his work.[Meet outside the Porthead Tavern at 2-4 High St, Irvine KA12 0AY, just at the entrance to Glasgow Vennel.
