Join us on 12 August for a talk by Lee Joyce and Tony O'Connor on the West Essex Archaeological Group (WEAG)'s excavations at Durolitum, near Chigwell.Explore the archaeology of Roman Durolitum, the key roadside settlement that once stood along the Roman road between Londinium and Colchester.

This talk highlights discoveries from excavations near Chigwell carried out between the 1950s and 1990s, revealing evidence of Roman activity, roadside occupation, and the people who lived and travelled through this strategic point.

Join us to see how these findings are reshaping our understanding of Roman West Essex and its place within the wider landscape of Britannia. After the talk, you have the opportunity to have a leisurely walk around the museum's exhibition all about Durolitum- Town and Country: Life in Roman Durolitum. The talk runs 78pm, with doors opening at 6.45pm.7.00 per person, with light refreshments available.
