Friday 13 November 7.30pm
Tickets: 15A double-bill premiere of original folk-poetry theatre and the official book launch of Sea Thief & Other Horrors by multi-award-winning writer and performer Jackie Morrey-Grace.Jackie's first live production in over two years opens with a new folk-theatre adaptation of the title poem from her fourth Isle of Man Arts Council-funded poetry collection, Sea Thief & Other Horrors. Inspired by Jackie's love of Dvorak's symphonic poems, particularly The Noon Witch, this dark folk tale blends poetry, music and song.Alongside Jackie, it will feature Blue Vannin Jazz Club's Musical Director John Stillman on violin, Jackie's husband Ed Morrey on percussion, and opening scenes performed by jazz vocalist Lauren Gray, and sound artist Amy Howse.Part Two presents a full mask, music and movement production of Jackie's second poetry publication, Asila's Song. This haunting tale of curlews and bones lost at sea again features John Stillman, this time on the Erin Arts Centre Steinway, musicians, Lauren Gray, Amy Howse and Ed Morrey, plus dancers Owen Atkinson and Ash Gibson, with the epic poem being performed by Jackie herself.Jackie's self-illustrated books, including Sea Thief & Other Horrors, will be available to purchase during the interval and after the performance for 10 each. This show is written, performed and produced by Jackie Morrey-Grace and Penny Productions.
