Dark Circles Presents Coltrane At 100 - A Live Centenary Celebration Of The Music Of John Coltrane

Join us in the wonderfully intimate surroundings of Crown House for a live celebration of the music of John Coltrane, with twelveheads , featuring three of the UK's finest talents: Peter Ibbetson, Tom Challenger and Tom Herbert.

We invited them to celebrate the music of jazz icon John Coltrane, who would have been 100 this autumn.Let's meet the band...Tom Herbert is a prominent British double and electric bass player known for his work in contemporary jazz, alternative, and experimental music.

He is a founding and core member of Mercury Music Prize-nominated bands The Invisible and Polar Bear, as well as the jazz-punk group Acoustic Ladyland.Peter Ibbetson is a drummer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, electronic music producer, and educator.

Based primarily out of South London for over 16 years before relocating to Hastings, he is widely recognized across the UK music scene for effortlessly bridging the gaps between jazz, free improvisation, electronic music, folk, and post rock.Tom Challenger is an acclaimed British tenor saxophonist, improviser, composer, and educator based in London.

Born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, he has established himself as a central figure in the UKs contemporary jazz and experimental music scenes.

He is highly regarded for his ability to blur the boundaries between structured composition and open improvisation.
