Physical and scannable I.D Required.Canyons is an instrumental band recorded between Madrid and London, built around the haunting sound of founding member Simon J Alpin’s lap steel guitar and the evocative guitar, string and brass arrangements of multi-instrumentalist and composer Jon Wygens.Drawing on cinematic Americana, desert blues and the atmosphere of the open road, Canyons creates music that feels both timeless and widescreen.

There are echoes of Ry Cooder’s Paris, Texas soundtrack, Ennio Morricone’s legendary film scores and the desert-noir sound of Calexico, but the band’s music ultimately inhabits its own landscape.With no vocals, melody, texture and atmosphere take centre stage.

Lap steel guitars shimmer and ache alongside guitars, strings and brass, creating instrumental soundtracks for places that may or may not exist.For their first live concert, Canyons bring this world to the stage - cinematic, spacious and quietly intense.Presented by Ninety One.18+ event.
