Masterclass: Microfiction with Prof. Estela Meije

Microfiction has the remarkable ability to open vast emotional and imaginative spaces within just a few lines.In this workshop we will read and explore a small selection of striking micro-stories—many of them from Latin American writers—and reflect on how such brief texts can resonate so deeply with readers. Through shared reading and conversation, we will look at how silence, suggestion, and the unsaid play a powerful role in the reading experience.No prior literary background is needed, only curiosity and a willingness to explore language together.

Based in Argentina, she has spent many years working with adults, teachers, and language learners, creating spaces where literature becomes a catalyst for reflection, dialogue, and connection. Her work has been deeply influenced by the philosophy of The Reader and its approach to reading as a meaningful communal experience.
