The General

Join Donald MacKenzie, the renowned organist from London's Odeon Luxe Leicester Square, in a programme of light organ classics and, after the interval, accompanying the silent film, The General, live on the Cathedral organ.The General premiered 95 years ago in February 1927 and the train wrecking scene cost $42,000 - the most expensive single shot in the history of the silents! Buster Keaton's cinematic masterpiece centers on his two loves - Annabelle Lee and his locomotive, the General.Entry is via the Dark Entry of the Cathedral's Cloister from 6.30pm.Tickets are £10 and seating is on a first come first served basis.
