Printmaking Workshop: Print Tree Rings with Charlie Ash

In this special day workshop with printmaker and tutor Charlie Ash, youll discover how the captivating, complex patterns of organic material can be made into relief prints.

Tree rings make fantastic natural printing blocks, as they can be easily worked to reveal the concentric rings formed by their yearly growth.

Using locally sourced woods such as Ash, Beech, Oak, Hazel and Hawthorn, well be taking a close up look at the different grains of native tree species, and learning how to prepare them into relief blocks.Beginners welcome, for adults (ages 18+).This workshop accompanies Print in the Park, an exhibition celebrating 20 years of Gloucestershire Print Coop and 25 years of The Museum in the Park.
