The Dukes Theatre Company presents Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet, a bold reimagining of the iconic tragedy directed by Joseph Pitcher. Pitchers acclaimed credits include Gypsy (UK Theatre Award for Best Musical Production) and My Fair Lady at The Mill at Sonning, and Macbeth at the Salomons Theatre, Tunbridge Wells. Returning to the company following Macbeth (2025), this vibrant production also features original music by composerRob Millett (Rambert Dance Company and The Royal Opera House, The National Theatre and Shakespeares Globe).Audience Advisory:

Seating is not provided. Please bring fold up garden chairs, camping chairs or blankets. People on blankets will be advised to sit in the first 5 metres in front of the stage. The production is supported by a PA system, with each actor individually amplified.Getting Here:

For bus transport, the 101 service operated by First Bus runs from Hanley (City Centre) and Stafford via Newcastle-under-Lyme. Please use bus stop 'Trentham Gardens'
One you've arrived onsite, please head to our Main gardens entrance located in the centre of the shopping village.Parking:
Car parking is FREE at Trentham at our two main car parks: one located near Trentham Garden Centre and one next to Trentham Shopping Village. We have 4 electric car charging points and 8 Tesla Supercharger stations located next to the Shopping Village. Accessible and Parent & Child Parking available.Accessibility:
We welcome guests of all abilities and levels of mobility.
For wheelchair uses and those with limited mobility, Trentham is all on one level with low ramped access to most facilities. Mobility scooters are permitted and wheelchairs are also available to hire.
There will be a lift in operation for assistance onto the Church Flats area.Dogs:
Except for assistance/guide dogs, we regret that we cannot admit any dogs or other pets to our performances. We appreciate that most dogs are well behaved, but it only takes one pinched meat pie or canine stage invasion, and chaos ensues! It has to be one rule for all.Toilets:
Toilets at arrival on entry and exit at the Gardens entrance.Food and Drink:
Picnicking is encouraged before and during the performance, and at the interval. There is no bar or refreshment facility at this venue.Weather and Cancellations:
