Rcs Symphony Orchestra

The RCS Symphony Orchestra presents their first concert of the academic year, with a dynamic programme conducted by guest Irish conductor Karen Ní Bhroin.
In this concert, the orchestra will mark ten years since Peter Maxwell Davies’ death with a performance of Orkney Wedding with Sunrise, featuring solo bagpiper in its evocative depiction of life in Orkney, where the composer, fondly known as Max, lived and died.
After the interval, the orchestra performs Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8, a radiant celebration of lyrical invention, warmth, and orchestral richness.
