Patience

Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience is a satire on the aesthetic movement of the 1870s and '80s in England. That the movement was so popular and also so easy to ridicule as a meaningless fad, helped make Patience a big hit when it was first performed in April 1881. This production has been moved into the late 1960s and the days of Hippies and Flower Power, which mirrors the original setting so well.
