Sign up and experience the passion of tango through its rhythm, connection and expressive elegance. The Instituto Cervantes in Manchester presents a new edition of its tango workshop with instructor Chris Shields.Tango is a dance that originated in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Montevideo (Uruguay), and quickly spread around the world.
Few dances require as much connection and mutual understanding between partners as tango; for this reason, it is often said that to dance it well, one must “listen to the body” of their partner.
The dance is based on three essential elements: the embrace, a slow and deliberate walk, and improvisation. This workshop is designed for intermediate learners, so previous experience is required. The course consists of six sessions, taking place on Tuesdays 14, 21 and 28 July, 4, 11, 18 and 25 August, and 1 September.Time: 7:45 pm – 9:00 pmEnrolment by phone or email.
