Hanif Kureishi: Shattered

On Boxing Day in 2022, renowned novelist, screenwriter and playwright Hanif Kureishi fell while in Rome. After coming to in a pool of blood, he realised he had lost the use of his limbs. Shattered is his memoir of the aftermath, a year spent in a series of hospital wards in Italy and London as he came to terms with his disability, built around fragments dictated to family members at the time.
