Piaf With Christine Bovill

Jointly with the Aboyne Twinning Association, we are bringing a real French evening to Aboyne on Friday 8th May with Christine Bovills Fringe award winning show Piaf.As a teenager, Christine developed her own enthusiasm for things French through the music of Edith Piaf.

From hating French at school, she went on to study the language and become a French teacher, before making her career as a live performer.

Given how extensively she tours in France, she must sound like the real thing!PIAF is a funny, poignant and moving theatrical homage to one of Frances most endearing icons - celebrating some of her best known songs, threaded with Piafs story, and Christines own remarkable journey in the world of chanson.

Come along to hear songs such as Non, Je ne Regrette Rien performed with much emotion by a woman widely regarded as one of the finest interpreters of French Song.Bring your berets, gingham checks, bagettes, croissants, French cheeses, quiche Lorraine, to deck the tables in Aboynes Victory Hall as a French Bistro.

The Twinning Association will be running a cash bar, and wine glasses will be supplied, with tea and coffee served at the interval.
