Based in Brighton, Blitzer are a post-punk three-piece. The band aesthetic is inspired by the Cold War in the 1980s, in particular East Berlin and the architecture and imagery of the time. Meanwhile, the sound is inspired by the noise of early 80s post-punk and new wave - think Echo & The Bunnymen, The Birthday Party, Buzzcocks, Public Image Limited - bands that both sounded and looked amazing, but still remembered to write three-minute pop songs, all rumbling melodic basslines, icy and venomous guitar attacks and infectious drum licks.
