Skills You'll LearnIntroduction to Metalworking Techniques covers an induction in metal work, materials, PPE, gas, electric and sundries.After completing this one-weekend course, you will have completed our metalwork induction and will automatically be able to book our metal workshop.About the courseDay One: Introduction to Metalwork AreaHealth and safety briefing, Explain marking out and cutting materialsMarking out using measuring tapes, squares, vernier callipers, scribes, pens and chalkThe use of the hack saw, pipe cutter, chop saw, angle grinder, guillotineDrilling using pillar drill and hand drillFolding, rolling and formingParticipants will cut lengths to roll on the progressive rollers, pipe benders, sheet folder and rollerFolding thicker material by scoring using an angle grinder.

Folding thin sheet material by scoringDay Two: Welding - MiG and TiGHealth and Safety introduction to welding, correct PPE, use, setup and close down proceduresDemo in MIG followed by practiceDemo in TIG followed by practiceHot WorksHealth and Safety introduction to gas bottles, correct PPE, use, setup and close-down proceduresDemo of hot works forming using the anvil, vice and hammer.

Followed by practiceDemo of brazing/hard soldering.
