Rural Suffolk, 1759.
Sally Poppy has been sentenced to hang for a brutal murder, but at the eleventh hour, she claims to be pregnant.
The court is forced to pause her execution and summon a jury of 12 local, ordinary women to decide her fate.
With a restless crowd gathering outside, the matrons must navigate conflicting testimonies, personal prejudices, and the weight of a system that was never designed for them to question.
As tensions rise, alliances shift and suspicions grow... because the greatest danger may not lie with the accused, but within the room itself.
The play was first staged at the National Theatre in 2020.All ticket sales for this production will be dedicated to Arts4Wokingham and its goal of bringing more public art into the borough.
Not only will you be able to enjoy a night of live theatre but you can do so whilst helping to bring a much wider range of art locally.
Your support will make a difference.
What better way to enjoy a show than in the knowledge that the price paid for your ticket will be used to fund and promote more arts based projects in the Wokingham area.Arts4Wokingham wish to thank Wokingham Theatre for their support and patronage, and Clifford Ingram for their generous sponsorship.
