Sewing squares and sharing grief.An informal session where people can come together to attach some of the squares made for the blanket. these squares will have come from all over the world and this session is an opportunity to be practically involved in the Stolen Lives Stolen Futures project by attaching the squares together in sections which will then be added to the blanket for its next display.Max tickets 25

All materials will be provided.A second session on August 21 will focus on stitching squares together.Stolen Lives Stolen Futures, a mixed-media artwork created by Blackburn-born artist Fariha Blockley, will be exhibited at The Bureau Centre for the Arts from July 31 until August 29.Now stretching more than 50 metres and made up of around 2,000 individually crafted squares, the memorial has been created with contributions from people across the world, including Australia, Japan, and Jerusalem.Each square symbolically represents 10 children killed in Gaza since the latest Israel-Hamas conflict began, with the artwork aiming to encourage visitors to reflect on the scale of the humanitarian crisis.Fariha said she began the project to help people better understand the human impact behind the statistics.She said: My motivation for the blanket was to try and reach the people who are silent or still unsure about what is happening in Palestine.
