Joan Brossa: The Mental Feeling of Complete Happiness

Free to visit during June and July as part of the Festival of Libraries.The Instituto Cervantes in Manchester joins the Festival of Libraries, organised by Manchester City of Literature, with the exhibition “Joan Brossa: The Mental Feeling of Complete Happiness”, bringing to the city the work of one of Barcelona’s most innovative poetic voices.The exhibition celebrates Brossa’s playful and experimental approach to language, objects and meaning, alongside new works created by students from Pendleton Sixth Form College in response to his ideas.Through themes such as transformation, wordplay, visual surprise and humour, these works extend Brossa’s spirit into new forms.

Together, they create a vibrant dialogue between cities, generations and creative practices, offering new ways to experience poetry beyond the page.
