After years of carving out a space within Manchester's queer creative and nightlife scene, Banksie is preparing to say goodbye to the city they've called home for a decade at least for now.On the 17th of September, Fairfield Social Club becomes the setting for one final night of cabaret, chaos and celebration as Banksie takes to the stage for a very special farewell show before heading off to Melbourne, Australia.A queer creative, performer, curator and the founder of Club Rat Entertainment, Banksie has spent years bringing together performers, artists, musicians, dancers, designers and audiences to create loud, unapologetic and gloriously queer experiences. From 'Blank Yourself' in a daylit thrift shop to 'Miss Chief' that ran for 4 years of debauchery, these cabarets and Banksie's work has become synonymous with creating spaces where queer creativity can take centre stage. This farewell cabaret is a celebration of that journey the people, the performances, the ridiculous nights, the friendships, the failures, the triumphs and the community that made it all possible.Expect a stacked lineup of special guests, outrageous performances, big laughs, a healthy dose of nostalgia and plenty of chaos. Its not quite goodbye forever but it is the last chance to catch Banksie performing a full cabaret in Manchester before the next chapter begins on the other side of the world.
Come celebrate the journey. Come raise a glass. Come say goodbye.
