Recital Conference “The Great Italian Music and the Tuba virtuoso style” with Gianmario Strappati in Edinburgh

Following his concert activities across the United Kingdom, Gianmario Strappati (Ambassador of Don Bosco Missions for Music in the World) will perform at St Cecilia’s Hall – Concert Room & Music Museum, The University of Edinburgh on Saturday, 17 October 2026 at 6:30 pm.The recital-conference, entitled “The Great Italian Music and the Virtuosic Style of the Tuba”, will combine live performances with engaging commentary, guiding the audience through the richness of the Italian musical tradition, from the Baroque period to contemporary music.Through the expressive and virtuosic possibilities of the tuba, Gianmario Strappati will present a programme featuring works by Tomaso Albinoni, Giacomo Puccini, Gioachino Rossini, Mauro De Federicis, Vittorio Monti, and other distinguished Italian composers, highlighting the remarkable versatility and artistic potential of this unique instrument.In collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture and the Consulate General of Italy in Edinburgh.
