Shropshire's premier quartet return to close the season bringing a mix of the familiar and the less well-known. Following Haydn's glorious Op 76 No 4, the Sunrise , they bring to life Szymon Laks' third quartet 'On Polish Themes'. Incarcerated in Auschwitz and Daschau from 1942 - 1945,
Laks' music has been unjustly neglected in the years since. The concert ends with Debussy's shimmering and exciting quartet in G minor. The Jarualda are an exciting ensemble. Seen & Heard International's review of their 2024 Corvedale Festival performance remarked on '...the unflinching focus and intensity of the Jarualda Quartets playing'. Come and hear for yourself!
