Step back in time with us on a guided tour of Sheffield General Cemetery, a beautifully preserved Grade II listed site with over 180 years of history.Explore this unique Victorian Garden Cemetery, designed in the style of a landscaped park, and uncover the stories of the people buried here - from industrialist Mark Firth and reformer Samuel Holberry, to sweetmaker George Bassett and the founders of Cole Brothers (now John Lewis). With over 87,000 burials, the Cemetery is a remarkable gateway into the citys rich past.Youll visit the striking French-inspired catacombs, hear the tales behind our listed monuments and memorials, and see the recently restored Samuel Worth Chapel, now a thriving cultural space.After the tour, join us in the Samuel Worth Chapel for a complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate or soft drink. Tickets: All tickets are sold online via Ticketsource. No tickets are available on the door.
Please note, there is no minimum age but the tour is aimed at adults and is more suitable for children aged over 11. Children must be accompanied by an adult.T&CsTickets for this event are non-refundable. However, if for any reason the event is cancelled by us, we will refund your ticket.
