Exhibition Tour: David Hoyle on Queer Art

For over four decades, David Hoyle has queered the boundaries between live art, performance, theatre and cabaret - conquering nightlife around the world and working extensively in film and TV.
The original performance avalanche, his infamous alter-ego The Divine David transported him from radical alternative settings in the '80s to Channel 4 in the '90s, with a recent online collab with Parisian fashion house Mugler once again catapulting him into the headlines.A passionate art lover and prolific visual artist, David has exhibited his paintings at Goswell Road gallery in Paris. In 2024 the Aviva Studios in Manchester held a retrospective of his career to datePlease Feel Free to Ignore My Work, focusing on key themes that run through his work: gender, mental health, AIDS, revolution, decadence and the effects of capitalism.Who better, then, to take us on a tour of our Outburst exhibition at the MAC?
