As a pacifist she was horrified and wanted to do something, the idea was born. After being introduced into Folk Music when she was 11, Sofia at 66, is one of the longest serving folk singers in town. She claims, between 1963 and now, the live music scene in Shrewsbury was born and maintained. She argues that all live music if connected by a line would join up with those early days, as children of musician parents have picked up their parent's mantel, so Shrewsbury music grows and spreads, always however traceable to those early days in the OPO and the Boathouse. Shrewsbury music scene is alive and possibly the healthiest scene in the U.K. Jez Lowe will head a concert comprising of the best folk/blues coming out of the County town today.
