Bearing Witness in Turbulent Times - The Urgency of Socially Engaged Art and Community Practice

Join us for a day-long symposium on the role of socially engaged art in driving social change, featuring conversations between artists, activists, policymakers, human rights researchers and authors.

This event will take the form of workshops, case studies and incubators exploring the intersections of art, community practice, public policy, and social justice.Philippe Sands, international lawyer and award-winning author, will open the symposium with a keynote focusing on the art and act of bearing witness through public storytelling and the law.Other projects will include Dublin's Housing Action Now collective, and a cross-border initiative Socially Engaged Art & the Public Practice of Reconciliation.Symposium partners include: The MAC, Create, Learning Lab Agency, National Sculpture Factory.
