ReFashion Edinburgh: a maverick sustainable fashion event

Join us for the fifth annual ReFashion Edinburgh a maverick sustainable fashion event curated by our fashion designer-in-residence Alison Harm of Psychomoda designer-made clothing. Every year ReFashion Edinburgh shines a spotlight on Edinburgh-based designers who share a passion for sustainability and ethical creation. Supported by models, dancers, hair stylists, makeup artists, technicians, videographers and photographers, the local designers come together to provide an antidote to fast fashion and make a difference in an industry that desperately needs change.We are delighted that the Traditional Dance Forum of Scotlandis the national charity of choice, with all the proceeds from the ReFashion Edinburgh tickets going towards embedding sustainability and diversity in the traditional dance across Scotland.ReFashion Edinburgh 2026 creatives include:

Established in 2014, the Traditional Dance Forum of Scotland is the only cultural organisation of its kind dedicated to advancing all forms of world dance with roots in traditional culture practised in Scotland. Based in Edinburgh's Scottish Storytelling Centre, but with a national remit as a cultural charity. We advocate for and support trad dance through free membership and three routes - festivals, residences and productions like Vengefully Changed Allegiance - Alison Harm's first solo exhibition in a public institution, exploring sustainable fashion and the role of tartan in traditional dance which we curated as part of our 3rd annual Pomegranates festival in spring 2024.Further details at https://www.tdfs.org/About Psychomoda
Established in 1992 and situated in Edinburgh's Old Town, Psychomoda is a fashion design studio and shop, which exclusively showcases the work of in-store designer Alison Harm -the founder of ReFashion Edinburgh.Alison has over 45 years of experience in creating clothing for all occasions, including sustainable garments made from remnants and antique cloth, vintage and recycled jewellery. Every year ReFashion Edinburgh becomes a vehicle for designers hand-picked by Alison, to present their original sustainable garments and highlight their creativity to the public while raising awareness of sustainability in fashion, with the proceeds from the event donated to a different national charity.Further details: https://psychomoda.com/About ReFashion
ReFashion Edinburgh, founded in 2022 and produced by Alison Harm of Psychomoda, is a maverick fashion event representing the work of up to 10 small business designers. The event aims to support small businesses, nurture sustainable creativity and raise money for charity. ReFashion Edinburgh is a grassroots response to at least three issues. Firstly, the destructive systems of fast fashion and the dumbing down of creativity due to designers being forced to compete in the fast fashion environment. Secondly, the lack of support for small fashion enterprises and thirdly, the elitism of the fashion industry. ReFashion Edinburgh is not just about the designers. Each year, the designers are supported by an incredible team of creatives, including models, hair stylists, make-up artists, photographers, videographers, backstage staff and technicians. In the words of ReFashion founder:"We are a team of over 50 people in total. We are an inclusive group in relation to age, gender and physical ability. We facilitate personal creative growth in all team members through mutual support. All participating creative businesses are allowed to use the event to promote themselves equally. ReFashion Edinburgh is not a charity in its own right and never will be. The removal of money from the project ensures a fair and equal environment of mutual support. Everyone has equal rights within the team. We give our creativity and take support. The door ticket funds are handled by and go in their entirety to the chosen supported charity. The charity, in return, handles all matters of curatorial and admin support.
