Local authors Karen Haase and Julie Martin-Jones both discovered they enjoyed writing during an optician's appointment.

Over the Fence, their first jointly-written novel, tells the story of Seren and Clarissa, two neighbours with contrasting views, whose lives are separated by a garden fence.

Their diaries chronicle similar events which they experience in contrasting ways and lead to a catalogue of confrontations that get out of control.The latest novel, Breaking the Fence, continues the story of Seren and Clarissa as they learn more about each other.
