We are then joined by our soloist for Edvard Griegs beloved Piano Concerto, a work of striking drama and poetic beauty, where virtuosic brilliance meets deeply expressive Nordic lyricism.

After the interval, the orchestra expands into the lush emotional world of Sergei Rachmaninovs Symphony No. 2, a masterpiece of soaring melodies and rich orchestral colour, bringing the evening to a powerful and deeply moving close.
