Framing Preston: Exploring the City's History Through the Artwork at The Harris

This new guided tour by Michael Akers, will investigate a selection of paintings at the Harris Art Gallery.

Well look at each work in detail and consider how these treasures in Prestons fabulous art collection reveal interesting and unusual details of Preston over the last three hundred years.

From the small minutia of daily life to landmark events, the aim is to use the paintings as a window into the past and consequently see aspects of the citys history in a new, slightly alternative and fun way.
