Medieval Bristol was surrounded by a ring of thriving monasteries. Join this 90-minute guided walk to look for clues and surviving evidence of seven monasteries, plus a nunnery. We start at the abbey of St Augustine (now the Cathedral). The walk then winds its way past the sites of a series of monasteries towards the Dominican friary ('Blackfriars') before returning to finish at the site of St Mary Magdelene's nunnery. The walk ends at the bottom of Christmas Steps making it easy to return to the starting point. Once the clues have been pointed out, you will never view this area of Bristol in the same way again!
Full information about meeting place etc will be sent out to all ticketholders seven days before the event (so check your 'Junk' folder if nothing appears - or email stridethroughhistory@gmail.com)
