At the heart of it all, however, is the trumpet - warm, lyrical, expressive and unmistakably Linley.Magy's Farm Alongside his wife, the poet Maggie Doyle, Linley co-founded Magy's Farm, a world-renowned independent jazz venue situated in the Dromara Hills. The intimate rural venue has hosted hundreds of international musicians, including Grammy winners.Rohan Armstrong - acoustic bass
Rohan Armstrong brings the deep, warm sound of the acoustic bass to the trio - providing both its heartbeat and its harmonic foundation. A sensitive and highly responsive player, Rohan can hold down a groove one moment and become another melodic voice in the conversation the next. In the intimacy of The Blue Room, the natural resonance and detail of the acoustic bass should be particularly special.Zac Irvine - piano
Young pianist Zac Irvine represents an exciting new generation of Northern Irish jazz musicians. Bringing energy, imagination and a fresh musical voice to the trio, his piano playing provides both colour and momentum - responding instinctively to Linley's trumpet and Rohan's bass. This is exactly the kind of setting in which an emerging player can shine: up close, spontaneous and sharing the stage with musicians of exceptional experience.
