KillerStar return to The 100 Club for a 3 night residency, following 3 acclaimed sold out shows here last year and the release of their critically acclaimed album 'The Afterglow' .
The live band for these shows, led by founders and songwriters Rob Fleming and James Sedge, features longtime David Bowie band members Mike Garson, Earl Slick and Mark Plati. They are joined by Dom Beken and Lee Harris of Nick Mason's (Pink Floyd) Saucerful of Secrets. Completing the band line line-up are Ulrika Bergelind and Gail Windrass. With guest Simon Bates. The band have received rave reviews for their recent album The Afterglow and debut record KillerStar, including The Times (★★★★), Mojo (★★★★), RnR (★★★★), Classic Rock (8/10), Music News (★★★★). Their last album enjoyed extensive radio airplay from the likes of BBC Radio 6 Radcliffe & Maconie show, BBC Radio London Robert Elms and more.Having worked with guitarist, singer and songwriter Rob Fleming and drummer James Sedge on the British band's acclaimed debut , Bowie's most trusted musicians Mike Garson on piano, Earl Slick on guitar, Mike Plati on bass have returned for The Afterglow, an eight-song slice of powerful, insistent art rock, in which the spirit of adventurousness combines with a sense of classicism and purpose throughout. The Bowie alumni bring shades of their old boss with them you might notice the odd reference, particularly from Garson to an album that nonetheless belongs entirely to its own world. Joined this time round by Leonard Cohen's favourite harmonising siblings The Webb Sisters on backing vocals, The Afterglow picks up where the first album left off while going further into the stratosphere. From the killer riff smashing open The Afterglow to the delicate piano balladry of Invincible, this is glam, art rock, hook-laden pop, even a touch of jazz, all held together by killer melodies and lyrical themes on life, love and remembering. Both albums featured Mike Garson, Earl Slick, Mark Plati and other David Bowie alumni additionally featured - Gail Ann Dorsey, Gerry Leonard, Donny MacCaslin, Emm Gryner, Tim Lefebvre.Named one of The 12 most exciting acts in the world by Q magazine
