The story follows fading Hollywood action hero Jefferson Steele, who, in a bid to revive his flagging career, agrees to play King Lear at "Stratford." Expecting to find himself among the elite of British theatre, Steele is horrified to discover he has signed on with a small amateur dramatic society in the sleepy English village of Stratford St John.As Steeles ego clashes with the enthusiastic but inexperienced local cast, chaos and hilarity ensue.
