s LGBTIQ+ Sports Festival

InfoScotland's LGBTIQ+ Sports Festival takes place from the 13th to the 28th June 2026.Festival Fortnight (FF), coordinated by LEAP Sports, takes place annually, and aims to increase the visibility and participation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ+) people in Scottish sport, and provides opportunities to raise awareness of LGBTIQ+ and wider equality, inclusion, and human rights issues within the world of sport and physical activity. The festival provides something for everyone, featuring a combination of sporting, cultural, academic, social, and recreational events.LEAP Sports envisage a future where everyone can access, participate, enjoy and excel in sport, no matter their gender identity or sexual orientation. Unfortunately, for many LGBTIQ+ people this isn’t the case and social, structural and individual barriers stand in the way of their sporting journeys. Festival Fortnight aims to remove as many of these barriers as possible by:
Increasing opportunities for LGBTIQ+ people to access sport while establishing pathways into regular participation
Celebrating and increasing the visibility of LGBTIQ+ people who already participate, enjoy and excel in sport, so that others can learn and share from their experience
Exploring LGBTIQ+ and equality and human right issues in sport, sharing insight and knowledge to make sport more welcoming for all
Offering support and advice to help people get involved or to try something for the first time.
