Wynford Jones and Geoff Cripps have played a monumental role in the folk circuit over the last forty-five years. As original members of the celebrated 1980s folk-rock group The Chartists, they continue to demonstrate remarkable energy and passion. Wynford's songwriting vividly portrays the radical Welsh working-class experience and captures touching recollections of life in the Valleys. These songs are brought to life by Wynford and Geoff's sensitive and accomplished multi-instrumental performance. The Blessed Crow are a dynamic father-daughter folk duo whose shows are marked by infectious energy and heartfelt storytelling. With Iona's clear vocals and Tim's accomplished musicianship, they deliver an energetic and uplifting performance. Their original songs blend traditional and modern folk, drawing inspiration from folklore, historical events, and spiritual themes. Many pieces reference local tales such as The Pwca and events like The Newport Rising, complemented by classic protest songs that reflect folk music's tradition of championing the underdog.
